I saw this one with a non-slip surface (like a hot rolled diamond pattern on the top) made from a heavier PVC. The pictures are like an optical illusion making it look like the diamond pattern has depth, but it doesn't. (I mean, it looks awfully impractical in the pictures but it's a textured flat surface)

They must have rolled the fucking thing up real tight when the resin was still hot, because was this ever a bitch to get unrolled. I almost just put it right back in the box and returned it, "here, YOU unroll this thing" lol). I think I'm going to leave a review, "Recommend wearing work gloves and a long sleeved coat when handling this snapping venus fly trap of a product, for it bites hard"
I had to first get one edge under this heavy credenza/end table thing on my left (my speaker set sits on top of that thing) to weigh it down, then keep pressure on it with my knee as I unrolled it inch by inch, from underneath. It was hard. My knees, back, hips, wrists, hands are all sore from the contorting abuse. And after all that, it's got to be moved forward a bit. Not now, I'm not disturbing again it until it has a memory of being flat for a few days.
I'm sitting on it now, but I've still got heavy books and old UPS units around the edges to keep it from trying to roll inwards again.
All to save a few cubic centimeters of packaging.
We'll have to see how long this thing is going to last. I can't really comment on much but that shit sandwich of getting it unrolled at this time. There is resistance to moving the wheels though, so if it doesn't wear out soon and get ruts, mission accomplished.
P.S. Something funny, in the literature somewhere it says "VARIABLE SHAPE". I wondered what they meant by that and it's "The desk chair mat can be cut into your favorite shape" (umm, have fun cutting this material). They must be Chinese or something to think of that
