Arizona Bark Scorpions

Post by Zema Bus »

Haven't encountered one yet, and hope it stays that way :) Their range includes where I used to live and I never saw one there.

We should import them this summer, to keep the population of tourists down

With regard to the video though, I think he's exaggerating about their commonness. If they were that common ("can't walk 10 steps") there'd likely be no other wildlife around because the poxy things would kill it. Also, if enough people were stung by these creatures, something would be done to reduce that population.

I do not share such views about dangerous, low level creatures. If they pose a danger to humans, you don't walk on eggshells, it's not "their" territory, you get rid of them. That's not to say they should be exterminated in the wild, but when they encroach on populated areas, or areas in development to be populated, it's time to get out the scorpionicides :-)
