RX 9070 XT
So I gave in and upgraded my RX 7700 XT to an RX 9070 XT. AMD's last high end card was the RX 7900 XT, with this generation the 9070 is their best card, which I think would be considered an upper mid-range card. Though they do have the AI Pro R9700 (they call it a workstation card intended to be used for AI but it can also be used for gaming) with 32 GB of VRAM. Specs are nearly identical to the 9070, in the benchmarks I've seen it has a very slight edge but that varies. It's biggest advantage is having twice the memory 32 GB vs 16 GB, but then it also costs twice as much. It would be a lot cheaper option to get 32 GB of VRAM compared to an Nvidia 5090.

Re: RX 9070 XT
Nice, I'd like a video card upgrade, but the cheapest one (Acer brand) is like $899 on Amazon.ca, with only 6 left in stock. Other brands are more like $1100
I don't want to spend that much money on a mid range card, just so a bunch of greedy cunts can get rich. The prices are artificial. Next hardware failure is going to put me right out of business.

Re: RX 9070 XT
After running multiple benchmarks I got tired of my 5 year old Nvidia card beating the snot out of my AMD card so I had to do something about it
On all the benchmarks I've seen online the 9070 beats the Nvidia 3090 in games.
Maybe now that I bought one prices will crash

Maybe the Nvidia card excels at beating snot, but my 7700 card beats my games OK at my 1920 resolution

The job is done!
Three 8 pin connectors. First time I've seen that.

Re: RX 9070 XT
Great job, now you better set some time aside to play a bunch of different games (in the interests of science of course
)
I'd have to find a third 8 pin connector, I probably still have one in the unused stuff that came with the PSU

Re: RX 9070 XT
Sounds like a nice card! I'm not sure which I dislike more, the 12vhpwr connector, or having three 8 pin connectors. I used to have an RTX 3080 that had three of the 8 pin connectors. My daily driver is an RTX 4070 Ti Super 16 GB, which has the 12vhpwr connector. I also have an RX 9060 XT 16 GB that uses just a single 8 pin connector.
