Apophis Today
This is an interview with Peter Williams who played Apophis in Stargate SG1. It's an hour, 22 mins so I've only watched the first 20 mins so far. He says he was a fan of the original Stargate movie and has a degree and interest in archeology and geography so he was hooked. He also says he found that it's hard to make a living with a degree in archeology and geography - that was my experience as well with a degree in geography and environmental studies, hence where I ended up

Went back and finished watching it, listening mostly while I was doing something else. Interesting interview. Partway through he says it's time for him to rewatch it again

Yeah, if you're going into disciplines like that, your best bet is teaching (more academia). You'd have to go out on your own and discover something.
Apophis was not a character I liked in Stargate SG1. I guess that was the actor's role... mission accomplished. I like a good villain, but Apophis was despicable in every way.
The movie was good, but it's way different with Kurt Russel and a young James Spader (Daniel Jackson) when you're used to Stargate SG1. I watched the movie after the fact.
