Smoke Detectors Recalled Over Fire Hazard

Post by Zema Bus »

Smoke alarms sold on Amazon are being recalled after the company found they could be a fire hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wrote in a Feb. 12 statement that the recall specifically pertains to the LShome 3-Pack Smoke Detector Fire Alarms sold by TIANJINSHIHAOWEIXINSHENGJIDIANANZHUANGGONGCHENG.

“If the sensing threshold of security warnings is set too high, the alarm might not sound in a timely manner, posing a fire hazard,” the statement reads.

The alarms are white and circular. The products use 9V batteries and include a light, sound warning and a test button.

Customers can identify the recalled smoke alarms by the model number XG-7D04-KZ9Z and SKU number CX-50YP-A5VN, which are printed on the bottom side of the alarm.

The recalled products were sold on Amazon from February 2024 through December 2025 for around $30.

No incidents or injuries have been reported as of Feb. 17, 2026.

However, the commission is still urging customers to “immediately stop using the smoke detector fire alarms” and contact the company for instructions on how to receive a full refund through Amazon.

Smoke alarms can be tossed in the household trash, the CPSC noted.

The China-based company can be contacted via email at lmm15957491237@163.com.

It's a test. You have to be able to pronounce it to be the right material to work at their company

(I'm not sure that's such a big deal though. "If the threshold is set too high... it might not alert people on time". In other words, we can't have the public thinking for themselves, no. What I don't like are detectors that are too sensitive)
