Movies and Shows
We don't have one of these threads yet.
I'll start it with a cheesy series of movies called Wishmaster. I caught a clip of Wishmaster 2 on youtube, and the actor sold me on it. There are 4 movies, but I have only watched the first two. The actor (same actor) is more sinister in the second one. He has an inhuman forced smile, and his tone of voice is fairly evil. He's a Djinn... grants wishes to take souls, until he has collected enough to fulfill a prophesy condition that will open the means for all the Djinn to come and take the Earth.
Here's a good clip to show the actor and stuff.
It's not great, I probably won't make it through all 4 movies, but it has its humorous aspects. (Also, I like demons and shit in fiction)

Re: Movies and Shows
I'll check it out. I've been rewatching The Expanse lately, I'm most of the way through it. The acting is some of the best I've ever seen. One thing I noticed in the last episode - when the crew mention they're going to leave in their ship in the presence of a prisoner they were interrogating (she killed a main character), there is a very subtle reaction to this by the prisoner, so subtle that the first time I watched it I would not have noticed much less known of the reason for it (turned out she had rigged the ship to blow up once the reactor was warmed up).

Something made me think of this movie, I don't think I've seen it since I was a kid.

Re: Movies and Shows
I always loved Clint Eastwood (though the dramas he starred in later in life, not so much).
To watch these movies now though doesn't keep my attention span. That was a good clip though. The thing about old movies is, the action scenes are few.

Re: Movies and Shows
I've started watching this show, Mr. Inbetween. I caught some amusing youtube clips of it so I grabbed the series. It's an Australian show, so it's well done.

This character, Ray Shoesmith, is great. You can see some of the good parts on youtube

That looks familiar, I think I have seen that. I don't remember much of the movie though. I should watch that! I enjoyed the clip. Some good music too, as they were driving away after the rabbits part (and Clint yanked one out of the trunk by its ears
)

(I jest of course, that would probably be hard to find any other way. I haven't used an optical disk in years though)

Re: Movies and Shows
I watched this movie again (for the umpteenth time) with my nephew last night. In 1980, this was a great movie. Christopher Walken is so young my nephew didn't recognize him
The Dogs of War (1980)
This is pretty much the critical scene, he decides to turn the country over to the true leader of the people (that was imprisoned) not the puppet the billionaires want, for exploiting the country's resources (platinum)

That's one I've never seen, I'll look for it. Kind of reminiscent of what we have going on right now
