SiN Episodes: Emergence

Post by Zema Bus »

I had a lot of fun with this game when in came out in 2006, almost 20 years ago. I saw it at the bottom of my game list and thought I'd see if it runs. It ran just fine through the epilogue but froze on the next loading screen. Maybe with some tweaks, someone on Protondb suggested using an older proton version. The graphics may be a little dated, but there are some nice "visuals" lol! I remember the ending hinting at a sequel, but the series was cancelled after another studio took them over. It's $2 now on Steam, I probably paid $50 when it came out. Flopps used to play it as well.

I was going to say, it looked like half life style graphics and gameplay but that's because it's a Source Engine game. It does look like fun, especially for back then :-)

It's DirectX 9 so it's certainly within the realm of possibility to have working. If it doesn't work with DXVK you could also try WineD3D (the old direct3d to opengl translation).

Code: Select all

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
