This wonderful human being, Charlie Kirk, of Turning Point USA that sought to educate American youth to be good, white, Republican, Christian Nationalist patriarchs has been shot in the neck, and killed while selflessly and bravely going to college campuses, even though he knew he wasn't wanted. He even helped put Donald Trump in office, to save America.
I don't think I ever heard of him before I heard the report of his assassination.
Last moments: Kirk was shot while answering a question from an audience member about mass shootings

Well, the sniveling little shit was a popular christofascist propagandist, and indoctrinator since he was 18

It's always got to be culture war with him and his ilk. I'm sure the audience member was about to point out that it's a small number compared to the total number of "mass shooters" (now, that's defined rather loosely, I think if someone shoots two people).
It really does seem like he got to eat his own words, though. The "acceptable cost" of all the school shootings etc., as well as him previously grousing about "empathy". He said he didn't like that word, it's "dangerous" to society, sort of thing. That's some Ayn Rand'ian bullshit there.

Here's a good summary of examples of the kind of ideology this man pushed:

Yeah that's pretty bad. It's sad that he had so many supporters who agree with all of that.

Now they are trying to make it a crime to be glad Charlie Kirk is dead. At this time there's still the 1st Amendment but they are putting pressure on employers to fire these people wherever they work.
They are calling the Democratic party a terrorist organization, even though it wasn't the left that did it, because people are telling the truth, and using Kirk's own words to show that he spread hate. They are going after people who fund the Democrats to start. Trump just announced a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times for defamation AND accusing them of "illegal campaign contributions" to Kamala Harris. One of the few news orgs that didn't cave to Trump. So it's illegal to donate to Trump's opponents, while douchebag billionaires pump money into subverting democracy. Got it.
I'm sick and tired of their performative hypocrisy.

I guess they're ignoring the findings that the shooter wasn't affiliated with either party, and the democratic politician who was assassinated several months ago.

Well, in the U.S., as you know, that "independent" thing just means that you haven't registered as a member of a political party (in my country, most people don't join with the party, it's only been in recent years that we even have anything like a "primary" where party members can vote for party leaders... it used to be done by delegates at conventions). It says nothing about how, or if you vote and it says nothing about your socio-political stance if you aren't a member of either party.
From what I got from facts, and reading between the lines is that the shooter was more of an alt-right poster in right wing groups. He comes from a Mormon, Republican family where "leaning left" can mean simply criticizing their ideology and leaders. The etchings on the bullet casings were in the style of Groyper memes, with video game references. Also gleaned... Fuentes came out pretty quick and disavowed this guy, and those that engage in political violence, where he's all but encouraged it before (they were active at the Capitol on Jan 6). He knew this guy had Groyper associations.
I also believe the shooter may have had some cognitive dissonance, having a close friend (texts kind of indicate possible intimacy?) that is trans. That's my viewpoint only, based not on facts but human nature.
None of this supports the narrative that these bullies are trying to push, to start a war to eliminate the Democrats (that are only really on the "left" in context of U.S. politics... they'd be too conservative for my voting pen, in Canada).
These appointed, anointed assholes are just drunk on their own power. For example the head of the FCC that Trump put in place is now threatening Disney, because a network they own hosts political comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who went against their narrative that the shooter was from the left. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."
P.S. Just heard that Jimmy Kimmel's show has been indefinitely canceled. Almost every corp. is a lickspittle for Donald Trump now. Nobody else gets a broadcast platform but those that promote their doctrine.
This is all Kimmel actually said about Kirk:
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.
That's not even a joke, it's the truth. This is a text book example of "speaking truth to power". Something that the 1st Amendment is supposed to protect.

Yeah very consistent with what you'd expect from an authoritarian government.
I saw an article recently about George W Bush being critical of Trump, when I saw that it made me wish we had Bush back in office. He may have favored things like tax cuts for the rich but at least he didn't destroy everything to do it, and Jimmy Kimmel could have spoken critically about his administration without losing his job

I've thought that many times, that Bush was a beacon of sanity compared to this assfuckinghole. Bush was also not an imminent threat to mankind (despite what he started in Afghanistan and Iraq) like this miserable megalomaniac.

"You're hurting Australia right now, I'm going to tell your prime minister you said bad things about me". For fuck's sake, how can anybody seriously entertain this asshole.
FCC Chair Carr says ‘we’re not done yet’ after Jimmy Kimmel suspension by ABC
Trump on Wednesday evening praised Kimmel’s suspension and called on NBC to cancel its own late-night shows, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

I'd been reading about that, moreover, Trump made a statement from Air Force One to the effect that networks that "go after Trump" (narcissist referring to himself in the third person lol) should have their licenses revoked.
That's the whole reason Brendan Carr was given that position, he can control the narrative that the public gets to see, or naziii. He was one of the architects of "Project 25" and they get key positions.
This is an organized, authoritarian takeover of America. It's not just Trump The Stupid. He's the figurehead for it (though out of control and unpredictable)

People need to stand up to these bullies. The media conglomerates just see it as better for their business and monopolistic goals (being allowed to conglomerate) if they appease Trump, but they forget where their money ultimately comes from.
I already don't give Disney or their subsidiaries money, so it's moot for me to say I'm boycotting them, but fuck them all, every which way.
Anybody that disagrees with anything this administration is doing is accused of being with "the radical left". It's just inconceivable to the stupid public that everything isn't a binary choice... not everything is a dichotomy. You're either this, or that, you can't be a conservative and support LGBT+ rights etc. (THAT is the basis for saying the Kirk shooter was from the left)
I'm finding it pretty hard to laugh at this stuff. What those political comedians are saying has a lot of irony and I appreciate it, but it's too much ominous truth to be comedy.
Going back to George W. Bush, I didn't have to worry as much about what America was doing (though I didn't care for destabilizing an entire region because of 9/11), because they weren't trying to turn the world into a fascist shithole. Now this is alarming for all mankind.

If this wasn't so sickening it would be comedy. Oklahoma is trying to pass a bill that mandates statues of Charlie Kirk and his family be in every University
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified36
Req. No. 2266 Page 2
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3205.15 of Title 70, unless
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. The Legislature finds that:
1. Charlie Kirk, born on October 14, 1993, and tragically4
martyred by assassination on September 10, 2025, was a fearless
defender of free speech, the founder and chief executive officer of6
Turning Point USA, and a transformative force in empowering young7
Americans to engage in open, robust discourse on college campuses;8
2. In his honor and to perpetuate his legacy as a martyr for9
truth, faith, and the First Amendment, each institution within The10
Oklahoma State System of Higher Education shall establish on its11
campus a dedicated square or plaza; and
3. Each such dedicated square or plaza shall be designated as13
the Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza to remind all to foster an14
environment of intellectual freedom, civic engagement, and the15
principles Kirk championed, ensuring that future generations16
remember his courage, faith, sacrifice, and contributions to17
American liberty.
B. Each institution of higher education within The Oklahoma19
State System of Higher Education shall designate and develop a20
prominent area on its main campus as the Charlie Kirk Memorial21
Plaza. The square or plaza shall be located in a highly visible and22
easily accessible location, such as near the central quad, student23
union, or main entrance pathways, to maximize public awareness and...
blah blah blah
It was a university professor from Nova Scotia's Acadia University, named Jeffrey Sachs, that noticed this and pointed it out (On Xshitter I think)

My sister sent this to me, it's Jon Stewart's take on the situation and Trump's visit to the UK. When he's in the UK doing a speech notice how Trump's ear lines up perfectly with the ear of the guy behind him, looks like he has elf ears lol! And then the part about the guy with something on his head

Jon Stewart is really taking the piss out of this, pretending to fidget nervously etc. The delivery of it is excellent.
You know Trump didn't write that speech, he can barely read it.
