It's amazing how so many can hold such a vile person to such high esteem.
It's always the same archetypes of people that bring about the ends of civilizations. Corrupt leaders with greed, lust for power and conquest, wrapped up in religion (genuine beliefs or not). Oppress a people by the sword and you'll eventually meet your end by that sword. Reinforce your authority by convincing the rubes that Sky Daddy is on your side, and they'll be more likely to fall in line.
This time they are hastening the demise of our biosphere with their greed associated pollution, too. (e.g. Trump is rolling back environmental protections, trying to convince others to do the same, and bringing back coal)
Knowing all that, what Randal L. Schwartz said is ominous.
P.S. Just to illustrate how twisted their logic is, with manipulation of religion towards their own ends, Lindsey Graham recently told the Pope to "Get on the right side of history" and support what the Trump regime is doing. History is not going to be kind to America of this era.

The U.S. seizes a Venezuelan oil tanker. (full stop!)
Trump is lecturing Europe on how he's going to be making profound changes around there. Essentially Russian dominance in the region, with Ukraine remade in his image (with AI datacenters using their resources), using funds that Europe seized from Russia to do this, and European reliance on Russian energy. He thinks he's the world's dictator, dividing up territory.
The U.S. demands (threatening sanctions against ICC members) that the International Criminal Court pledge that they won't prosecute Donald Trump and his top officials. Also demanding that investigations on U.S. behaviour in Afghanistan, and Israel's behaviour be dropped.
It is high time for an international intervention.

(Actually today, Trump has been ordered by a federal judge to halt construction of his ballroom pending litigation... he had no right to demolish the East Wing of the White House and has no right to build a lavish ballroom without public consultation etc.)

The plaques were hung up below presidential portraits that have been on display on Trump’s recently added "Presidential Walk of Fame" in the White House colonnade.
The one placed under the portrait of the “Autopen," which stands in for President Joe Biden's portrait, refers to him as “Sleepy Joe Biden” and calls him “the worst President in American History.” The plaque contains a number of derisive statements about the former president, referring to Biden’s “severe mental decline,” “the Biden Crime Family” and his “Radical Left handlers."
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told NBC News in a statement that Trump wrote the text of "many" of the plaques.
“The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind," she said. "As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.”
The plaque says that Biden took office in the White House "as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States," alluding to the 2020 presidential election whose results Trump sought to overturn. It accuses Biden of overseeing "a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction," noting the inflation that developed during his presidency, denouncing the Inflation Reduction Act as the "Green New Scam" and blasting his administration's immigration policies.
"His Afghanistan Disaster was among the most humiliating events in American History," the plaque says, noting the deaths of 13 U.S. service members during the 2021 withdrawal. "Seeing Biden’s devastating weakness, Russia invaded Ukraine, and Hamas terrorists launched the heinous October 7th attack on Israel," it says.
Yeah, and "Obama was the most divisive president in history" too. Everything Trump is, these people are being slagged as.
Afghanistan was Trump's unilateral negotiation with the Taliban. Biden pretty much had to follow through.
No matter, people know this is all garbage and it will be restored very quickly when this regime is out of power.

Anybody that knows me, knows that I'm no friend to religion but I think the Catholic Church has a pretty decent Pope again (as was Benedict before him).
Pope Leo is standing up to the Trump regime's antics and condemning them. (Lindsey Graham told The Pope to "get on the right side of history" lol)
Now, he's replacing the Trump supporting Cardinal (Dolan) with a bishop (Hicks) that he's known for a long time, that has pro-migrant stances to lead the big New York Archdioces.
That effectively demonstrates (especially being an American Pope) how The Roman Catholic Church wants people to act, not like a Christofascist Trumpanzee

So 60 Minutes (you know, that show that takes Donald Trump an hour and a half to watch) had a segment prepared about Cecot prison in El Salvador. It's the product of research, journalism and interviewing survivors (that got out). See, Bukele was proud of his prison, so he allowed social media influencers etc. to come and see it to spread the message and this corroborated claims of abuse and torture (not that they saw it, but by connecting dots). I'm sure he thinks of it as a mistake now. Nobody is supposed to come out of that prison to tell of what really goes on there.
The Trump admin got Bari Weiss (the director of CBS) to shit can the segment hours before its release. Global TV in Canada wasn't having any of that though, and showed the segment. Of course, with the Internet, there's no way to really contain that, so it was "leaked" to Allison Gill (of various media publications, "Mueller She Wrote" in this case).
I hear it's getting whacked where it appears in the U.S. but these streams are still available. It's just the segment, 13 minutes
