I pay with cash for most things. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the more direct exchange. This is the cash, that is the merchandise. There is no penalty for paying with cash, for either party, and no clawbacks. I also prefer my privacy out there in meat space.

Heheh... I've been wishing I still had this file (tech support prank call) and here I had it in public_html/temp all this time. It's quite old (1994'ish I think).

Not surprising that someone made a youtube video out of it. That was a file that I got on IRC, when we used to play wav files in the channel (most people used mIRC which had DCC send requests for audio etc.). Back then, that was a large file in the dialup days. Now it would be relatively rare to find any web page smaller than 1 Mb.

Oh man, I hate that. Because of these rubber necking morons, an accident affects traffic for miles... and yes, it can cause more accidents.

I can't count the number of times those people made me late to work back when I was working on-site. Sometimes it would just be a car broken down on the opposite side of the freeway.

Yeah, just like on a network, a delay is multiplied for each vehicle in front of you.

One time I got stuck on the freeway between London and Toronto, for hours in the winter time. Traffic was backed up for several miles. The weather was getting bad, so it was royally pissing me off. They were blocking all the off ramps with snow plows and stuff so traffic couldn't spill off and bring those areas to a halt. When I finally got to the origin of the delay, there was a crane lifting still dripping, sardine can wreckage. Suddenly my rage at the traffic jam seemed trivial

That's just a testament to the fact that Windows has gotten progressively worse. Well, Windows 8, especially before 8.1 was an absolute insult. Windows 10, when it first came out was horrendously foolish, with forcing driver packages and stuff but it matured into something not AS bad. Windows 11? They can gargle my balls.

I'm not a fan of romance movies (or romantic comedies) either

Camping... I've never seen the point. I'd sleep in the woods if I'm too broke to get a motel, but I wouldn't do it on purpose. That silly video about sums it up.

Pretty much, when my parents were my age I thought that was old. My parents were almost 40 when I was born so it was almost like a gap of two generations.

I consider myself old now. My parents were in their mid 20's, so they are still here (with cobwebs on their asses, mind you)

Silly expressions. Hungry enough to eat a horse brings something to mind. We used to go for family dinners at East Side Marios and places like that. When my niece and nephew were younger, we were all waiting for the food and just as it's coming, of course somebody my dad knew from somewhere has to come up to the table and it's all "oh look at the baby". One of the kids said they were hungry enough to eat a horse, and I said (quietly) "oh yeah? Well, I'm hungry enough to eat a baby!". The horse thing is ridiculous anyway, so why not that, prudent, seeing as we were all irritated. Both of them were laughing hysterically, which made me laugh too (with stern looks from mothers). It became a thing after that, at dinner time. "I'm hungry enough to eat a baby"
