Re: Louis Rossmann vs DMCA
Yeah, fuck the DMCA. I am not subject to it, but I wouldn't let it stop me if I was.
I just ripped DVDs and burned them again (and used a program to strip out that sony baloney Cinavia copy protection, if present) if they had any stupid restrictions. DVDs were easy, with libdvdcss.
Blu-ray, I simply banned the technology. I refuse to pay any royalties towards that, and I don't accept the DRM... I still have plain jane older SATA DVD writers in the closet, unopened because I never wanted to run out of them. Now I don't use optical media for anything.

Re: Louis Rossmann vs DMCA
Same here, whenever I buy something on optical media, which is pretty rare these days, I never get Blu-Ray. I got burnt by Blu-Ray years ago, I bought two Blu-Ray movies and they refused to play with anything I had. I eventually managed to watch them but not without a lot of effort. Most of my cases lack bays for DVD drives so on the infrequent occasions I want to watch one I use an external USB DVD player/writer.
