I had forgotten about this hidden gem. I saw it in my bookmarks yesterday and came in for awhile. Today, I thought I'd drop a note to say hi again. I haven't been real active anywhere for a bit.
We do a lot of camping in the summer, and I can't talk her into letting me buy a laptop with an aircard. I think she would hurt me in my sleep. ![]() |

Gosh, a real live message. Too bad I didn't notice it for two months.
What probably happened was that I had a spammer come here that day, and thought the email notifications about the new posts were just that. I have one of those air cards (cellular) and it only works where there is good cell phone coverage. If you have that where you go camping, you're not going far enough! ![]() |

I was back here again today on a sleepless night. I was wondering why I wasn't getting email about your response. A quick trip to the CP showed I was using an email addy no longer in use. What a dork I am at times! hehe!

At least I noticed the email notification this time. No more spammers to distract my attention.

Here I was clearing old bookmarks and saw this. I'm surprised you are still going!(This forum, I mean!) Hope all is well with you.
I really need to get more active. Working 12 hour shifts though is a real drag. I hit 60 this year and I am so ready to give it up. |

Hi, mlangdn
Yep, it's still here, as there's no reason to shut it down. Yours is the first post in a long time. All is well with me, I'm still carrying on working on computers and stuff. 12 hour shifts are a long haul, I had a job once that did that. It wasn't so bad when it was 3 days off because of it, but they always want more. |

And now I'm retired!
Had to bump - hope all is well with you. I see you and Zema talking about games and stuff. I'm not much on games. Still play the hacked Cube and Saurbraten, and some pokerth. Trying to get used to doing what I want. Of course, its winter and I want to go camping! Meh - about three months to go. |

Hi mlangdn, I hope you enjoy retirement.
Yes, we talk about games, Linux and Steam, the latest outrages with Windows 10 etc. Nothing really new is going on, hardware is uninteresting (more iterations of the same shit with no new real advancements) Sauerbraten... it's too bad that engine didn't go anywhere. Stubbornness really, it was only meant to be a minimalist concept. Most ideas and contributions are not accepted. It's not really that suitable for modern games to build on. It did get a maintenance fix in 2017 though, for problems in Windows 10 (input devices, Intel graphics) There have been several other projects based on it, but none seem to get really "finished" (polished) and sit there for years after. |

Hey Mike! - this is Mike!
I see you've been a bit active at LQ. That's a good thing. Me, I'm just retired and lazy. I'm thinking about a part-time gig at Home Depot, Lowes, or even a retailer like Wal-Mart for the winter. Give me something to do and pay the bar bill. ![]() |
