Re: Twitter
Ahh, maybe not then. I'm going to guess the algorithm alerts when it doesn't match the geographical area the account is used from. It probably flags it as suspicious activity. So if you go on vacation somewhere and use the account, you're going to have to jump through verification hoops etc.

It's probably automation that knocks on doors until they find a successful login. In the case of the one pasted, that looks like a successful login and you caught it before they could do anything with it. My auntie got her mail hacked and they sent out emails to her contacts asking for gift cards. A...

Well, I'm tired of having mayonnaise coughed out my nose, so I have something else for your gastronomic delights. There is no end to the gourmet culinary ideas on the Internet from other cultures, to put that pizzaz back in your life.

Re: Intel 13th & 14th Gen Game Instability
Fuck, I am indeed glad to not be chasing my tail over that. Unreal Engine sure is a piece of shit though. DA had CPU problems with that game (Borderlands 3/Unreal 4) and had to set affinity to not use all his AMD cores. P.S. Also, it was Unreal 4 and 5 (in DX12 mode) that were hitting that occlusion...

Yes, we're going to go with an AMD build for her. As I said her requirements aren't special. Put it together and stock settings. Onboard graphics. 32 Gb RAM. One NVME etc.

Re: Solve one ESD problem discover another
OK, at least one scenario you are describing corroborates a buggy BIOS (the supermicro) causing that behaviour. I suppose I don't have to buy a $400 Gigabyte board, it's just what I'm used to spending on a good board. I'm still kind of fixed on just living with this board the way it is. I'm not havi...

... and let me guess, did they have MSI boards? Why the Hell would there even be that kind of bus power in S5 (powered off). That my bios doesn't distinguish between S4 and S5 (as indicated by the setting, even) is the problem. They are really the same thing except the system can resume from a hiber...

Solve one ESD problem discover another
While the new video card solved the problem of the PC needing a hard, cold boot when touching the case (or any ill effects), I discovered that sometimes it turns on when the case is touched. Bleary eyed in the morning, I shut down and went to my big sleepy chair and out of the corner of my eye I saw...
Re: Starfield
So I finished this game. The main story, and I acquired all the Starborn powers by going to all the ancient temples. I still had a bunch of side quests queued up, and still countless systems I could have gone to, but I decided I'd rather do all that in a New Game+ After acquiring all the artifacts, ...

Foxes and Fossils
These folks are a cover band, a group of dads and their daughters (hence the name, Foxes and Fossils). They are fabulous musicians, who, in many cases reproduce the music they are doing, better than the original artists. For example, this is the absolute best rendition of "Angel From Montgomery...

That's what I appreciated about it, that it was different. It didn't tweak any musical emotions or anything though. I generally don't like "Rap" EXCEPT for some of the nasty, funny rhymes. I don't care for the monotonous musical character of it, just the recitation and the beat kind of jus...

I could have gotten rid of agpgart 15 years ago... that it was loading and in use was what deterred me. Easier to just leave it, distributors all do. But it does not use that module at all to initialize the GART or anything. I noticed something a bit interesting there (not related to this), look how...

That mesa problem I had for a year with my RX 570 card, with flickering textures in Directx12 Unreal games (e.g. Borderlands 3 but not only) where I had to maintain my own patch, is fixed now, ironically (now that I have a new rig and can't even test this on the old one anymore... don't have the gam...

I've toyed with a few of those, but now I just hang up. It can get pretty nasty once the jig is up. If I say hello and hear silence for more than 2 seconds I hang up, even. Most of the people manning those phones aren't very bright and it's funny to watch videos of people giving them a hard time.

ehh... one thing that's fucking me up on this keyboard is that the "\ |" key (forward slash and pipe) is in a different place. On a "standard" keyboard, that's above the enter key and on this one it's down beside the right Shift key. The reason will be because they wanted to make...

Hey, it looks like we've got Firefox 125 now but no release notes as usual. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/125.0.1/ Interestingly, it seems they skipped or removed 125.0, it's not in the repository at all. They must have seriously messed something up. I'll get this built then we'll see...
