Re: Music we like
That's what I appreciated about it, that it was different. It didn't tweak any musical emotions or anything though. I generally don't like "Rap" EXCEPT for some of the nasty, funny rhymes. I don't care for the monotonous musical character of it, just the recitation and the beat kind of jus...

Re: agpgart
I could have gotten rid of agpgart 15 years ago... that it was loading and in use was what deterred me. Easier to just leave it, distributors all do. But it does not use that module at all to initialize the GART or anything. I noticed something a bit interesting there (not related to this), look how...

The mesa problem I had with occlusion queries is fixed...
That mesa problem I had for a year with my RX 570 card, with flickering textures in Directx12 Unreal games (e.g. Borderlands 3 but not only) where I had to maintain my own patch, is fixed now, ironically (now that I have a new rig and can't even test this on the old one anymore... don't have the gam...

Firefox 125.0.1 Release notes (for 125... they skipped 125.0) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/125.0.1/releasenotes/ Firefox now supports the AV1 codec for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME), enabling higher-quality playback from video streaming providers. The Firefox PDF viewer now supports text...

I've toyed with a few of those, but now I just hang up. It can get pretty nasty once the jig is up. If I say hello and hear silence for more than 2 seconds I hang up, even. Most of the people manning those phones aren't very bright and it's funny to watch videos of people giving them a hard time.

Oh Hell, this probably isn't mobile friendly. One of the fixed width styles would be better though (can be changed in User Control Panel under Board Preferences in a drop list) Zema force feeds me mayonnaise  (If you get hungry for some mayonnaise treats, we have some in our Random Stuff thread)

I've never found a straight answer as to whether or not that is used or needed with PCI-Express graphics. The module loads and is used by ttm (Translation Table Manager, part of the DRM system, a memory management driver used by probably everything but Intel UMA devices like onboard graphics that us...

Re: Ai Squared ZoomText keyboard
ehh... one thing that's fucking me up on this keyboard is that the "\ |" key (forward slash and pipe) is in a different place. On a "standard" keyboard, that's above the enter key and on this one it's down beside the right Shift key. The reason will be because they wanted to make...

It's not that different from what you've used before. If you remember bbcode it works pretty much the same. You'll have to switch to "Full Editor & Preview" if composing in the Quick Reply (you won't lose your text) to get at the Attachments tab where you'll quickly figure out how to u...

So I actually heard back from Asrock, and they sent me an RMA request form. I am to fill out the PDF. I thought how the Hell am I supposed to do that, I don't have Adobe Acrobat (Adobe can do an acrobatic leap and disappear up their own rectum) Then I remembered reading in release notes a long time ...

Shit that's the Canadian site (and in Canadian dollars) but that same board is listed here too (it was just an example) but there are better choices of shipping origin (e.g. I don't think "Free shipping from Israel" would be a good selling point at this time lol) https://www.newegg.com/p/p...

Amazon would always be my first choice to buy anything nowadays, but newegg seems to have plenty of LGA 1200 socket boards.

We've got pretty good image/attachment posting facilities here in phpBB and I have it so you can post relatively large images. The board will scale them, but the data is still there if you right click and view the image in a new tab. However, I've also got a Coppermine photo gallery on my .org domai...

Hey, it looks like we've got Firefox 125 now but no release notes as usual. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/125.0.1/ Interestingly, it seems they skipped or removed 125.0, it's not in the repository at all. They must have seriously messed something up. I'll get this built then we'll see...

Re: Case Pictures
Oh, that would be cool (replacements vs. unnecessarily long extenders) if they weren't shitty. The PSU connecting end is the most important, you wouldn't want to be second guessing that, especially way inside that enclosure. That could cause like EM interference too with that broken sheathing (if ne...

Re: Gathering parts for new build
So, in the end I decided that PS/2 to USB converter needed to get the Hell off my USB bus. It was causing latency issues with USB input. It wasn't bothering me gaming, but I'm a fairly fast typer and it was causing some glitchy missed keystroke behaviour and causing mouse latency warnings on the roo...

Oh, my luck! I haven't seen one of these since the early 2000's, I used to have some customers with bad eyesight that had them. I went to a local computer store that tends to have just what I need, and I'm going through shelves of keyboards, logitech, verbatim, microsoft, unheard of brands... all mo...

Ahh cool, that makes sense with the PCI-E power connectors. In pics, sometimes the angle of view obscures where things are really coming from. Now that's a cool looking build, your personal rig. The figurine looks good in the lighting etc. too. Those cable extenders with the combs are the bee's knee...

It's a viable brand of PSU, a lot of those experts have them in their videos. I'm more leery of alternative brands of video cards, I've had bad experiences deviating from the path.

Just a bump to make sure folks know they can change their board style.
I have the dark coloured, non-fixed width style as the default, but there's also a fixed width variant, as well as both fixed and wide for the light one. Go to User Control Panel and Board Preferences

LOL yeah, that's cutting it close, those Fractal cases seem to be on the small side. I see you have one of those pain in the hemorrhoids PSU enclosures on that case too.
